Following the drainage of Lake Bonneville, it gave rise to the Great Salt Lake and the exceptionally salty Bonneville Salt Flats, enveloped by the distinctive mountain fins of the Great Basin, protruding from a undulating and rugged terrain.

Wasatch North Region
This place exudes a sense of seclusion, akin to stashing away prized cookies on the top shelf. Utah conceals some of its finest alpine adventures in the far north. Anticipate picturesque farmland near Logan, unspoiled ski resorts known only to locals, and a colossal hidden freshwater gem reminiscent of the Caribbean.

Wasatch Front Region
Comprising four percent of the state's landmass yet hosting 66% of its population, this is(n't Just) the place for people-watching. The Wasatch Front seamlessly shifts from mountains suitable for skiing and biking to metropolitan amenities, culminating in the presence of the largest saltwater lake in the Western Hemisphere.

Wasatch Back Region
This is the Utah that affluent individuals from Hollywood envision. Venture eastward from Park City's luxurious resorts and celebrity sightings, and you'll witness the region retaining its stunning green and blue hues at the Wasatch Back reservoirs and on the north face of the Uintas. Engage in hiking, biking, boating, fishing, 4x4 adventures, or even (safely) observe someone else attempting to ride a bull in northern Utah's rendition of the wild west.

Under the Notch Region
AbunIn the meeting point of the blues and greens of the Rocky Mountains with the reds, oranges, pinks, and yellows of the Colorado Plateau, Flaming Gorge doesn't make any effort to hide its splendor. Keep it a secret; others might find it hard to believe, anyway.

ATV Country Region
Is it the head or the heart of Utah? It doesn't really matter, because unspoiled forest areas like this are the type that stirs an appetite for appreciation. The Arapeen and Paiute ATV trail networks meander across almost 1,000 miles through the enchanting evergreen and aspen wonderland. Don't forget to bring your fishing pole.

West Desert Region
Occasionally, the desire arises to pack your truck with water, gasoline, and sandwiches and create some space between yourself and the rest of humanity. Fulfill your soul's yearning for solitude amidst the challenging landscapes of the West Desert (and consider a detour to Great Basin National Park while you're at it).

Red Rock Region
The southwestern corner of Utah (also known as the Persian Gulf or Virtuous Vegas) is strategically located at the convergence of the Great Basin, the Colorado Plateau, and the Mojave Desert. The elevation varies from the hot and low Beaver Dam Wash at 2,180 feet to the snow-covered Brian Head Peak at 11,300 feet. Oh, and there's a national park you might be familiar with.

Utah's Outback Region
Competing with its northern and eastern counterparts for the title of Remotest in Utah™, Kanab (population 5,000) stands as the largest city and serves as the central hub for all the state and national parks, monuments, and more. The region is renowned for its abundance of jaw-dropping and stomach-tightening slot canyons.

Monument Corner Region
Comprising nine percent of the state but hosting only 0.5% of its population, this disparity is more due to a lack of water than a lack of scenic beauty. You might recognize San Juan County from classic John Ford/John Wayne westerns, where monuments rise majestically from the valley floor. However, the reality of Monument Valley and Bears Ears is even more expansive when experienced in person.
