Custom Carpentry
..dedicated to craftsmanship
From full-scale structures to detailed features like the Alaskan Yellow Cedar stair railing shown below, we bring expertise and artistry to every piece. Whether you're building from the ground up or adding unique accents, our services are priced to provide high-quality work that fits your budget.
We select high-quality materials, paying close attention to the choice of wood, finishes, and other components. This focus on quality materials contributes to the longevity and durability of our furniture.
The term "stain or finish grade" implies high quality materials and craftsmanship. This type of cabinetry is often chosen for its natural beauty, and the grain patterns and color variations of wood are emphasized rather than covered up by paint.
Jared Oboy did a fantastic job for my wife and me. He has a unique talent and approaches the task with an eye for both detail and artistry. You will not be disappointed because he delivers a great product. We had a contractor who had hung a gate backward, which allowed the security gate to double as a ladder. Jared rehung the gate appropriately and made a beautiful mortise and tenon arbor into which he incorporated some manzanita branches from our property. The finished product was a fantastic enhancement. Jared also did some landscaping work on our property. His work rate is solid, and our neighbors are impressed by this man's work ethic.
Jared did a 6 star job with my back yard tiny home. Not only is it a great build, but the attention to detail from roof to runners is just better than anything you can get from a manufacturer and its not eve close! Amazing wood work all around.
Jared completely rebuilt our deck and did a masterful job. He is trustworthy, highly skilled and an excellent communicator. We are very pleased with our new deck.
Jared did a great job on our custom cabinet and shelf install job. Super time efficient, skillful and friendly. We would gladly work with him again!

We restored an original mahogany door while keeping a balance of historical patina. It was a challenge protecting the door from the homeowner who originally wanted to stain it one color. Several times throughout the day I asked them if they were sure, and with a final attempt, after getting the door to a point that my eye saw art value, I brought them back out to it and it finally landed, they loved it. I’m thankful we got to do an art piece rather than a standard refinish. The home is thankful as well. Visit our instagram for more photos of this project.

The goal was to have stout 6x6 posts but rails that fit the hands well, which ended up being 4x6 carved and shaped to be comfortable. The posts were also given some curvy lines. I began with rough sawn true dimension timbers. A not so common technique for timber framing was used to cut the joinery, line rule. I learned line rule while building log furniture but have rarely seen it used in timber framing, whereas scribe rule and square rule dominate. The posts and rails are alaskan yellow cedar, draw bored with oak pegs. AYC is more dense than western red cedar but still carries much of the rot and pest resistance. Makes for great exterior wood projects and was easy on the tools. It likes chisels and joinery. Visit our gallery for more photos of this project.
